Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A protest demanding clarity on the CBI investigation into the RG Kar case turned chaotic at the CGO Complex in Salt Lake, Bidhannagar, on Monday. Demonstrators raised slogans questioning the progress of the probe and the delay in justice. The police stopped the procession before it could move forward, but protesters attempted to break through barricades, leading to a scuffle with law enforcement.
Protesters alleged that the CBI investigation into the RG Kar case was slow and lacked transparency. They demanded a clear statement on whether the primary accused acted alone and why no supplementary chargesheet had been filed. As tensions escalated, some demonstrators pushed against barricades, resulting in a physical clash with the police. Security forces responded with crowd control measures to restore order, temporarily restricting movement around the CGO Complex.
A delegation of protesters later entered the CBI office and submitted a memorandum outlining their demands. Officials have not yet issued a response. The protest, centered around justice for the RG Kar case, has intensified pressure on investigative agencies, with demonstrators vowing to continue their movement until clear answers are provided.
